Tuesday, January 20

Over our three day weekend I didn't do very much sadly. On Saturday some friends and I went to the arboretum again since it was so nice. Sadly I lost my keys out their and they have yet to be found. I then watched some Netflix shows: Grey's Anatomy, American Horror Story, and Orange is the New Black. I also read some of my outside reading book while watching the KU basketball game. On Sunday I worked on a little homework and watched some more Netflix. Finally on Monday I packed for my trip for Colorado and watched to KU basketball game. I am leaving tomorrow morning and I will be visiting some colleges.

Friday, January 16

I am currently a Junior at Blue Valley High School. Last semester I was enrolled in CAPS which was a really cool experience. I got involved with a lot of science outreach programs and other organizations. I recently joined yearbook which is a new thing to me. It is interesting seeing the steps it takes to make the school yearbook, and just how much work the students and teachers put into it. So far this year I have really enjoyed US History and my CAPS class. I have always some what enjoyed history so I find that every year I am always interested in learning about the history of world. I took the Environmental Science and Animal Health class at CAPS and it was really cool. It was nice being able to leave the traditional school setting and attending a different "school" for a few hours a day. We went on many field trips through out the semester, including the zoo, the arboretum, The Missouri Animal Rehabilitation Center, and nature parks. Honestly, the one thing I am mostly looking forward to this semester, is to just finish the year. Junior year is the most stressful year with college and ACT, so I am excited to getting this year out of the way, and become a senior.

Tuesday, January 13th

What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.

So far I think this is some what like Emerging Tech. Luckily I already have my blog set up and it saved me having to do a few assignments. I do enjoy posting to my blogger and checking out other classmate's blogs. Codecademy is something new and I am having a little bit of trouble with it. I don't exactly understand know what I am "coding" so I find it frustrating, and a little confusing at times. I have learned a little bit from codecademy and blogger in this past week. I enjoyed Emerging Tech. and so far I really like this class.

Monday, January 12th

On Friday night I went to the Varsity Boys basketball game and took pictures for Yearbook. WE played North West and won! Saturday afternoon, my friends and I went to the arboretum to take pictures for photography. We went a little off trail and explored some cool areas. There is a lot of art work around the park which makes it fun to look around. The rest of my weekend wasn't too exciting. I watched the KU basketball game, did some homework, and had my grandma over for dinner.

Thursday January 8th

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

This article is a great quick motivator. It explains that excuses do not matter and people should stop pitying themselves. I personally agree with Judge. Everyone goes through hard times but that shouldn't  stop people from living their lives. Another point he makes is to go home and thank others for the things your community has given you.  Thank people for even the smallest things. The last thing he explained was you can't just live life and expect your dream to come to you. You have to work for it. Life's not always going to be easy but if push for it, things will pay off for it in the end.
